This project will help keep 200 Jordanian and Syrian refugee girls in school by helping pay for necessary costs such as tuition, transportation fees, books and boarding costs. Most of the girls are in high school (grades 12-17) which is unaffordable for most parents / guardians because the girls come from very poor families. In some cases, a child may have one sponsor who can pay 50% of the tuition amount but the family is unable to pay the rest. Most girls cannot continue after the ninth grade.
Girls in northern Jordan come from Jordanians and Syrian refugees from very poor families and cannot go to school, especially high school, without assistance. 50 out of 100 girls in northern Jordan do not complete their education and are married under the age of my law. We are re-educating girls in the program "She is Great" and other girls who are excellent. We will help them in school and avoid early marriage.
Your contribution to this project will help pay for the necessary tuition costs for these girls. They will be able to continue their school education. It will make them less likely to be affected by negative peer pressure and avoid thinking that the way to relieve parents of educational pressure and the cost of living for a girl is "the illegal marriage of the girl." Ultimately, this will lead to pregnancy and early marriage.
This program will contribute to raising the level of girls 'education and improving girls' critical thinking skills so that they can make better life choices for themselves and their children in the future. Statistics indicate that girls who completed education in Jordan had a 40% lower chance of acquiring childhood diseases in their children than those who were married under the legal age. In Jordan, 95% of Syrian refugee women do not complete their education .
