Shelter & Education for abused children in Nigeria

Summary

Thousands of children in Nigeria suffer physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, leaving them vulnerable and often homeless. This project will provide safe shelter and access to education for abused children, helping 500 children regain stability, confidence, and learning opportunities. Immediate intervention is required to protect them from further harm, prevent school dropouts, and provide essential care and guidance for their development.

Challenge

Abuse, neglect, and violence leave many Nigerian children without homes, protection, or access to education. Victims often face stigma, trauma, and social exclusion, reducing their chances for a normal childhood or future opportunities. Without safe shelter and learning support, these children remain exposed to further abuse, early exploitation, and long-term psychological and social challenges.

Solution

The project will provide safe, supervised shelters for 500 abused children, along with access to formal and remedial education. Children will receive meals, learning materials, and counseling to recover from trauma. Structured programs will ensure regular schooling, social engagement, and emotional support, helping children regain confidence, develop skills, and reintegrate safely into society.

Long-Term Impact

Children who receive shelter and education can recover from trauma, regain confidence, and pursue schooling and personal growth. Access to safe environments reduces vulnerability to exploitation, abuse, and social marginalization. Over time, these children can become productive adults, break cycles of abuse, and inspire community awareness on child protection, creating safer environments for future generations.
