Renewed violence in South Sudan has killed thousands. In Nov. 2025 alone, over 1,500 civilians lost their lives, with women and children targeted by sexual violence. Hunger and poverty force desperate families to break into church to steal food. We have spoken to a reverend father in Torit who will lead this project. His church has been sheltering civilians, and through this project, we'll provide emergency shelter & food to protect vulnerable people from violence, starvation, and displacement.
Ongoing conflict and drone strikes in South Sudan have left thousands dead and displaced, targeting civilians, especially women, children, the elderly, and the disabled. Hunger, poverty, and the collapse of local resources force people to break into church shelters. Schools and hospitals have been destroyed, leaving communities without food, medical care, or safe housing. Immediate humanitarian aid is critical to prevent further loss of life.
Through the parish in Torit, this project provides safe shelter, hot meals, and basic necessities to civilians threatened by violence and hunger. It protects women, children, and vulnerable families from sexual violence and starvation. By mobilizing local resources, volunteers, and community support, we create a secure environment for survival while raising awareness of ongoing atrocities, ensuring immediate relief and dignity for those most at risk.
Providing emergency shelter and food stabilizes families and prevents deaths from starvation or violence. Vulnerable children can continue education safely, and women regain security. Sustained support strengthens community resilience, enabling displaced families to rebuild their lives. The parish's model empowers local institutions to respond to crises, encouraging long-term protection strategies, social cohesion, and hope for peace in conflict-affected areas of South Sudan.
