Project Report | Jun 16, 2020
Shelter for Abused Girls, Sierra Leone

By Jennifer Nardozzi, PsyD | Board Member and USA Representative

Dear Donors, Families, Friends and Supporters:

We are happy to give you our Report for this month.

1.     COVID19 affected Sierra Leone as it has affected every nation in the World specially in Bo area, where we have our principal Shelter for Abused Girls. What our Team in Bo used was the best practices they used during the Ebola crisis, to break the chain of transmission. And, it has worked, and we continue to hope that it continues to work!

We provided trainings to help educate the comunities using the prosocial approach and included  the kids in Sierra Leone. We followed closely the recommendations of the U.S. CDC as well as WHO recommendations to counter the transmissions and effects of this virus. What we learned from the Ebola crisis was an immense training and help in our fight in combatting this virus.

2.     Commit+Act restated our commitment against Racial Violence, Racial Injustices and Police Brutality. Our Statement and our Mission speak to our fundamental principle that our works speak to our actions. As Ghandi once proclaimed: "My Life in my Message". Our stand is unequivocal and firm: racial violence, racial injustice and police brutality has no place in our world and in our work.

3.     We are working on our WEBINAR series that will feature professionals in the prosocial and ACT world. THe WEBINAR will also serve as a fundraiser vehicle.

4.     We are also working on creating a new version of our own website that reflects our work in the world.

We continue with great energy, great hope and sustained gratitude at the help and support we have recieved and continue to receive from Donors, Supporters, Families and Friends, like you.

In gratitude,

Jennifer Nardozzi, PsyD
