This project will provide activities, classes and workshops to 5 adults with developmental disabilities that are isolated, in their homes because their families do not have any type of aid to pay for their services out of pocket. Some of the activities we will offer are : Field Trips, Music, Art, Zumba and Dance Classes. This project will also offer them a high quality adult day care service based on love ,happiness and respect.
Nearly 1-in-5 U.S. residents have a disability, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In Florida 50% of adults with disabilities are inactive, isolated and unemployed. Currently we have 8 adults with developmental disabilities that are isolated, in their homes because their families do not have any type of aid to pay for their services out of pocket.
Illuminate Heart will provide them the following services: Community Based Instruction (CBI) program to help them practice their independent living skills into a real setting such like: restaurants, malls etc. Social Activities - providing activities, classes and workshops to help them practice their social skills to achieve a better integration in the community. Some of the activities are: Field Trips, Music, Art, Zumba, and Dancing classes.
The project will provide a high quality service to 8 adults with developmental disabilities who wish to continue developing their social, work and leadership skills that will help them generate a happier, productive, independent and successful life.
