In 2025, HODI provided services to 85,936 people across northern Kenya.
In a context shaped by recurrent drought, resource-based conflict, and limited access to services, your partnership enabled the delivery of integrated, community-led interventions that strengthened local capacity, promoted inclusion, and ensured that community priorities informed both programming and decision-making processes.
Alongside direct community support, HODI advanced policy engagement and advocacy efforts aimed at strengthening institutional responses in fragile borderland contexts. Through cross-border policy review workshops, county-level dialogues, and engagement with national and county government actors, community-generated evidence and action plans were elevated into policy discussions on peacebuilding, early warning, disaster risk reduction, and cross-border coordination.
We kept girls in high school this year by providing school fees, strengthened local peace committees and early warning mechanisms, equipped young people with life skills through football, empowered women economically through their saving groups, planted 1,695 trees, and supporting drought-affected communities in their recovery by providing chicken and goats to individual households.
We could not have done all this without your support. So, on behalf of everyone connected to HODI, thank you and a happy and blessed 2026!
