As we commemorate International Women's Day, my heart overflows with gratitude for your steadfast support over the past 12 years. Your generosity has been the guiding light behind Nawaya’s mission to empower the youth of Lebanon, particularly young women and girls, helping them navigate the journey towards realizing their dreams through our capacity-building programs.
At Nawaya, we firmly believe in the transformative nature of opportunity. Through initiatives like our entrepreneurship and employment training programs, we've borne witness to the remarkable strength and boundless potential residing within every woman and girl we've had the privilege to support. Whether it's launching startups or securing meaningful employment, each success story serves as a poignant testament to the profound impact of your contributions.
Allow us to share with you the inspiring journeys of Sara and Bader.
Inspired by the poignant memory of her mother's battle with cancer, Sara, a determined young biology student, founded CancerCom through Nawaya's entrepreneurship program. Sara's heartfelt initiative now serves as a beacon of hope, providing essential support to countless cancer patients across Lebanon, especially during these tumultuous times of economic uncertainty.
Similarly, meet Bader, a resolute young woman from the remote town of Marjaayoun in Lebanon. Having graduated from Nawaya's employment program in 2023, Bader has transformed her career aspirations, honing her skills and confidence along the way. Today, as she embarks on an internship with Nawaya, her sights are set on soaring to new heights as either a flight attendant or a corporate professional.
As we reflect on the remarkable achievements of the past 12 years, we find ourselves humbled by the myriad lives that have been forever changed by your benevolence. Your unwavering support has not only empowered individuals but has also fortified communities across Lebanon, enriching lives in profound ways.
On this occasion, we celebrate the collective progress we've made together and rededicate ourselves to the journey ahead. With your continued support, we remain steadfast in our resolve to dismantle barriers, challenge stereotypes, and pave the way for a future where every woman and girl can thrive.
