Our St Michael project is seeking support to provide much-needed skills development education to unemployed youths in the rural and less privileged areas of South Africa,Our primary focus will be and shall remain "blue collar" skills, by producing artisans that are work ready after completion of the course, this program will will equip the youth with skills to become employable or start their own businesses ,it will also reduce poverty, unemployment, dung use and early pregnancy in the youth.
In the region where our projects are based in South Africa, the youth and families are faced by both unemployment ,poverty and dung abuse . In these circumstances, youths need skills development that they can use to find jobs to become successful in the community.
The aim of our project is to develop holistic, community-based programs that offer skills to all youths in the areas and strengthen community support structures. With the involvement of a dedicated group of community leaders, we will build a skill development centers that will open in late 2019. Through the new center, we will provide opportunities for young youths to learn and develop skills that they can use to become employable or Entrepreneurs.
Skill development education is crucial for preparing youths for employment and for success in starting their own businesses. Programs like ours, which link the youth's cognitive, social/emotional, language, and motor development with stable and practical teaching, help break cycles of inter-generational poverty and inequality, particularly among youths facing multiple forms of adversity.
