The proposed project is aimed at promoting women empowerment through skill development and starting their own businesses, to sustain their families. This will be done through promotion of women participation in skills trainings to be independent among Nine Provinces. The project is the champion for the empowerment of women by building their capacities and competencies. This will be achieved by conducting a 10 days basic skills of how to use a computer, dress making and inteprenuer skills.
The conflict in South African is largely driven by poverty and Abuse. The entire country is burdened by the ravages of conflict and entrenched poverty. Women and girls make up about 57.7% of the South African population and the gross inequalities and inhuman conditions they endure both. As a result of the conflict, is a key factor contributing to South Africa poor human development index. Mothers and widows heads of households with hardly any access to property, health care and education.
To Increase the financial abilities of women to enable them to sustain their families, Educate their children (girl child focus), Afford better health, clothing and shelter for their children and Reduce poverty and attain improved standards of living. Advance gender equality, equity and the empowerment of women, ensuring elimination of all kinds of violence against women and children through Full participation in social, economic and political spectra at all levels.
Targeted primary beneficiaries to this project shall include 180 women who shall be mobilized from different communities within nine provinces (20 women per province). Proposed duration of the project is 6 months. The main goal of the project is promotion of women empowerment through gender mainstreaming. This will be done through participation, through capacity building and skills trainings to be independent.
