The Skills Training for 300 Teenage Mothers project continues to provide life-changing opportunities for vulnerable young women in rural Uganda. Many teenage mothers face limited educational opportunities, unemployment, and social stigma that make it difficult to support themselves and their children. Through vocational training and mentorship, this project is helping participants regain confidence and build sustainable livelihoods.
During this reporting period, beneficiaries participated in practical training sessions in tailoring, hairdressing, baking, and entrepreneurship. The hands-on approach allows participants to develop valuable skills while gaining the experience needed to pursue self-employment opportunities. Life-skills education focusing on financial management, communication, and personal development has also been integrated into the training.
The response from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. Many young mothers report feeling empowered and optimistic about their future prospects. They are learning not only how to earn an income but also how to make informed decisions that positively impact their families.
Community involvement remains strong, with local leaders and families encouraging participants to complete their training and pursue economic independence. This support is helping reduce stigma and create a more supportive environment for teenage mothers.
As the project progresses, plans are underway to strengthen mentorship programs and provide additional resources that will help graduates transition into income-generating activities. We remain grateful to our donors and supporters whose generosity is transforming lives and creating opportunities for young mothers to build brighter futures.
