BUILDING BRIGHTER FUTURES FOR TEENAGE MOTHERS IN U

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

The Skills Training for 300 Teenage Mothers project continues to create meaningful opportunities for young mothers who face significant barriers to education and employment. Through vocational skills development and mentorship, the project is equipping participants with the tools needed to achieve economic independence and long-term stability.

During this reporting period, enrolled participants actively engaged in hands-on vocational training programs designed to meet local market demands. Training activities focused on practical income-generating skills, including tailoring, hairdressing, baking, and small business management. Beneficiaries are also receiving guidance on financial planning, savings, and entrepreneurship.

The project has become a source of hope for many young mothers who had previously lost confidence due to poverty, stigma, and limited opportunities. Through regular mentoring sessions, participants are developing stronger self-esteem and a renewed belief in their ability to provide for their families.

Community engagement remains a key component of the project. Parents, local leaders, and community stakeholders have been involved in supporting beneficiaries and promoting positive attitudes toward teenage mothers seeking a second chance through skills development.

The dedication shown by participants has been inspiring. Many trainees are already developing business ideas and preparing for life after graduation. The project team continues to monitor progress and provide individualized support to ensure successful outcomes.

We are grateful to every donor whose support makes this work possible. Your investment is helping vulnerable teenage mothers gain skills, restore dignity, and create sustainable pathways out of poverty.
