INVESTING IN YOUNG MOTHERS, STRENGTHENING COMMUNIT

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

The Skills Training for 300 Teenage Mothers project is creating lasting impact by equipping vulnerable young women with practical skills, confidence, and opportunities for economic empowerment. The project recognizes that supporting teenage mothers not only benefits individuals but also strengthens families and communities.

Throughout this reporting period, participants engaged in vocational training programs tailored to local economic opportunities. Training in tailoring, baking, hairdressing, and entrepreneurship has enabled beneficiaries to develop marketable skills while preparing for self-employment.

Mentorship and personal development activities have remained central to project implementation. Through these sessions, participants receive guidance on financial planning, goal setting, and leadership development. Many young mothers have reported increased confidence and motivation as they work toward achieving economic independence.

Community support continues to play a vital role in project success. Local leaders, parents, and stakeholders have demonstrated commitment to encouraging participants and promoting positive attitudes toward teenage mothers seeking a second chance.

The progress achieved so far reflects the determination of beneficiaries and the generosity of supporters. Participants are gaining skills that will help them generate income, support their families, and contribute positively to their communities.

As we move forward, efforts will focus on strengthening business readiness and supporting graduates as they transition into sustainable livelihoods. We extend our sincere appreciation to all donors and supporters. Your contributions are helping transform lives, restore hope, and create brighter futures for teenage mothers across Uganda.
