Your support is helping us change lives and fulfill countless dreams. During the first half of 2021, we have already placed 165 trainees with disabilities in mainstream jobs. Through this report, I am sharing stories of our five recent trainees who got jobs.
Janta got a job at Sybrid
The praise I got throughout my educational journey kept me going but life after school became very difficult. Getting around this city with no assistance is very challenging and it is even more difficult convincing an employer to hire me because we (people with visual disabilities) are looked down upon. NOWPDP has given me good exposure with their call center training and I am so excited that I recently got a job offer from a leading technology company Sybrid as a Customer Support Executive.
Zarfeen got a job at Tri-pack Films
I used to be very fearful of traveling outside due to my hearing disability but I always felt the need to be independent. I started my training at NOWPDP because I heard about them helping deaf like me get jobs. After my training, I got my interview scheduled at numerous places and I am so happy that finally I am employed at a leading packaging company, Tri-pack Films.
Ahmed got a job at Abu Dawood
Life is really short and unpredictable; people don't usually realize this and take time for granted. I also took my time for granted, then my disability put a lot of things into perspective. Surviving in this city has become increasingly difficult which is why I took training with NOWPDP looking for extra skill sets so that I may be considered a considerable candidate for job vacancies. I am so thankful they connected me to various employers after training and I am now employed at Abu Dawood as Sales Support Executive.
Misbah got a 1-year apprenticeship at Tri-pack Films
Back in 2017, I got very sick and I thought I would never recover from it. I lost track of things and went into depression, became isolated, fell out of place, and lost my identity. My mother didn’t give up on me, she brought me to NOWPDP where my instructors gave me a positive outlook on life along with training me on necessary life skills which have assisted me to get a placement at Tri-pack Films as Trade Apprentice.
Obaid got a job at UBL Funds Manager
As a child, I was regularly bullied for being deaf. Even during my last job, I was constantly disrespected and told that I can't do anything in life. There is a peculiar satisfaction in accomplishing things people say you can't accomplish. That is exactly why I have started finding satisfaction in accomplishing and learning new things. I am so happy that I came to NOWPDP and took Computer Operations training and now I am employed at UBL Funds Manager as Operations Assistant.
