We are grateful to you for playing a pivotal role in mainstreaming one of the most disenfranchised communities of Pakistan – persons with disabilities – and facilitating them in transforming their lives. With the support of well-wishers like you, we managed to train 374 persons with disabilities and facilitate job placements of 205 individuals in 2021.
NOWPDP’s Center of Excellence provides market-relevant skills training, which increases the probability of the beneficiaries securing jobs. This is based on extensive research that NOWPDP has conducted across Pakistan, commissioned by the British Council, which mapped in-demand skills for persons with disabilities. Moreover, trainees are also facilitated in seeking employment through the Center, which ensures that the functions of the Center remain all-encompassing and extensive
Some of the most common companies where our trainees are placed include, Abu Dawood, JS Bank, PTCL, Sybrid, KFC, Total Parco, Tri-Pack, and Jubilee Life.
The person featured at the top is our past trainee, Adnan. When we met Adnan for the first time, he had a warm smile on his face and greeted us with a beautiful poem he had written himself. Working as a salesman at a car workshop, Adnan’s pay was less but the work was demanding - more so for him because of the inaccessible workplace. He worked hard to earn a living for himself and his three young children but with increasing expenses, Adnan’s income was nowhere near sufficient. He had to depend on others to support his family which he did not want. He got training for operating a retrofitted Rickshaw from NOWPDP. Not only this, he just got a hand-controlled rickshaw and he is all set to kickstart his new journey through your support.
