Dear Friend,
I am pleased to report that we have successfully handed this project to the local government.
Terra Renaissance has promoted social, economic development and peaceful coexistence of South Sudanese refugees and Ugandan host communities towards sustainable self-reliance in Ajumani District, Northern Uganda since 2018.
Thanks to your support, we have so far been able to reach a total of 197 people - 111 refugees (56%) and 86 host communities (44%).
They received vocational training in bricklaying, wood carpentry, knitting, dressmaking, welding and pig farming, and support to open their businesses, enabling them to start living self-reliant.
After receiving the training, many can earn an income and support their families.
After five years of support, we handed over the project to the local government and the Office of the Prime Minister under our philosophy of 'self-reliance and autonomy' and localization. From now on, under the management of the local government and the Office of the Prime Minister, we will continue supporting the South Sudan refugees who have come to Uganda and host communities.
We are proud of what we have done and the localization of this project and hope that our work will continue and contribute to improving the lives of South Sudanese refugees and the local people.
Thank you for your continued support of this project so far. Terra Renaissance supports other conflict-affected people in Uganda, DR Congo, Cambodia and Ukraine. We appreciate your continued support of those projects.
