Here are the latest updates on PEN PAPER PEACE’s project Pasos Pequeñitos in Honduras:
The daycare centre Pasos Pequeñitos provides childcare for single mothers and fathers so that the parents can work or continue their education. Pasos Pequeñitos currently cares for 11 children and supports 9 parents. Pasos Pequeñitos provides education, lunch, healthy snacks, and plenty of care to the children who attend the daycare. The daycare is open from 6 am until 6 pm, giving parents plenty of flexibility to pursue their jobs or education.
We have received very positive feedback about the newly introduced Montessori method at Pasos Pequeñitos. The Montessori method is based on learning through experience. Montessori education encourages children's natural curiosity and activities, breaking with formal teaching modes. The newly constructed building that houses Pasos Pequeñitos is equipped with a spacious Montessori classroom where children can engage in age-appropriate activities that promote healthy development.
