Dear supporters,

As spring is around the corner we want to update you on the project Pasos Pequeñitos.

The daycare center Pasos Pequeñitos provides childcare for single mothers and fathers so that the parents can work or continue their education. Pasos Pequeñitos currently cares for 20 children and supports their single parents. The daycare is open every day in order to provide education, lunch, healthy snacks, plenty of care to the children who attend it and the possibility for the parents to pursue their jobs or education. The children are growing up, but the need for care is still present. Therefore, we are considering adapting the concept slightly to their age.

We are convinced that Pasos Pequeñitos is an important step on the way to an independent life and quality education - both for children and their parents. Projects like this one ensure a long-term impact in the local communities.

Financing is currently critical for this year. Due to the high inflation, it is not certain that daycare can remain open. Please consider supporting Pasos Pequeñitos again, if you can and if you are as passionate about this project as we are! We are always happy to receive further donations.

Here are the latest updates on PEN PAPER PEACE’s project Pasos Pequeñitos in Honduras:

Pasos Pequeñitos!

The daycare centre Pasos Pequeñitos provides childcare for single mothers and fathers so that the parents can work or continue their education. Pasos Pequeñitos currently cares for 11 children and supports 9 parents. Pasos Pequeñitos provides education, lunch, healthy snacks, and plenty of care to the children who attend the daycare. The daycare is open from 6 am until 6 pm, giving parents plenty of flexibility to pursue their jobs or education.

Montessori

We have received very positive feedback about the newly introduced Montessori method at Pasos Pequeñitos. The Montessori method is based on learning through experience. Montessori education encourages children's natural curiosity and activities, breaking with formal teaching modes. The newly constructed building that houses Pasos Pequeñitos is equipped with a spacious Montessori classroom where children can engage in age-appropriate activities that promote healthy development.
