Hello!
We at PEN PAPER PEACE e.V. have been full of activities and ideas in the first half of the year! A lot has happened in our project Pasos Pequeñitos (Spanish for “small steps”):
Reopening in July
After more than a year of closure due to the Corona pandemic, the time has finally come:
We are happy to announce that the Pasos Pequeñitos daycare center, which we support with your help, will reopen in July.
The daycare center has found new rooms and is currently being renovated and remodeled. Thanks to your donations it is possible to create a child-friendly place for the children to learn and play. Thus, the single mothers can put their little loved ones in care in a stimulating and positive environment while dedicating themselves to study for a better future for themselves and their children.

New pedagogical concept in the kindergarten
There is even more news: Pasos Pequeñitos will not only reopen in a new location, but also with a new concept. In the future, the kindergarten will be pedagogically oriented according to the Montessori concept. The Montessori concept is strongly based on the self-determined learning of the children. Thanks to your donations we support the kindergarten to get all the necessary wooden toys.
We are very happy about the developments and look forward to the reopening of the daycare center!
The international writing competition started
Together with the Eckenroth Foundation, we are inviting children and young people to take part in our international writing competition in 2021. With our topics, we want to inspire young people to look beyond their "borders". Children and young people from Germany, Italy, Haiti, Honduras and Namibia can take part. Last year, a German-Haitian writing competition was already held in cooperation with the Eckenroth Foundation under the theme "My dream for the future". Unfortunately, due to Corona, the competition in Haiti had to be cancelled. In Germany, however, it was a huge success. Now we are looking forward to all the texts that students will write this year.
