Thank you for supporting this valuable project providing smokeless cooking stoves to families and communities in Kenya.

The transformative power of the work being done with this project can be seen in stories from day-to-day life in the households that have benefitted from the installation of smokeless stoves.

In the village of Kongoni, Joyce shared her story of transformation. “Since I got the smokeless stove, life has improved, gone are the days of daily treks to the forest for firewood.” Now, thanks to the smokeless stove provided by Brighter Communities Worldwide, Joyce only needs to make the journey twice a week. "I use less firewood, my house is clean since there is no smoke while cooking," she added, her words a testament to the impact of this simple yet revolutionary change.

Not far away, in Chebaibai village, Regina echoed Joyce's sentiments. “Thank you Brighter Communities Worldwide for installing the smokeless stove in my house. The stove has become more than just a cooking appliance; it has become a time-saver, a money-saver, and a source of relief from the irritations of smoke.”

“It cooks very fast compared to my former stove”, Regina explained. "I now use less firewood and save money since I used to buy more firewood,” she continued, highlighting the practical benefits that had transformed her daily routine.

Charles from Kiplokyi, a senior assistant chief, shared his perspective on the impact of the smokeless stove as well. “There is no smoke in the kitchen,” he stated with satisfaction. The clean cooking environment has not only improved the quality of life for his family but has also fostered a sense of equality in household chores. “As a man, I can help my wife to cook because there is no smoke,” Charles affirmed.

The smokeless stoves project not only brings warmth and convenience but also brings a significant shift towards a healthier, more sustainable future.

By significantly reducing smoke emissions, the smokeless stoves help in the fight against respiratory illnesses and eye irritation, providing relief and protection to families like Joyce's, Regina's, and Charles'. With cleaner air to breathe, communities are empowered to thrive and flourish, unhindered by the health burdens of traditional cooking methods.

In essence, the adoption of smokeless stoves represents a holistic approach to community development—one that prioritizes the health and well-being of individuals while also promoting environmental sustainability. As the flames continue to burn brightly, it is clear that the impact of smokeless stove intervention will be felt for generations to come. With each meal cooked, each breath taken, and each tree spared, the legacy of the smokeless stoves serves as a beacon of hope, resilience, and progress in Kericho.

Thank you for your support.
