Darfur Women Network
Darfur Women Network, DWN, is a non-profit organization, tax exempt 501c3. It is committed to providing family services, social services, and women’s economic empowerment programs, which enable families to overcome poverty, adapt means of sustainable development, and empower women to improve their livelihood. DWN has been building collaborations with various non- governmental organizations to further its goals and is planning on applying its extensive experience to assist internally displaced and vulnerable families in Darfur, as well as other regions in Sudan.
Our mission: to work to empower displaced women and vulnerable families to build peaceful and sustainable livelihood through economic, social change, and resiliency.
Our vision: prosperous integrated communities where every citizen enjoys a dignified living in Sudan.
Our strategy is to identify and to meet immediate needs of the community by providing vital services to empower women to build new skills, gain knowledge, and get access to financial resources to create lasting change.
The Darfur Women Network is registered in Sudan and opened an office in South Darfur State in 2021.
The Darfur Women Network has executed soap making project as on of its economic empowerment program-capaity building, job opportunities, and resiliency.
We trained women from displaced , vulnerable , poor families from different fouth camps, Musei, Sharq Alfania, Sakalei , and Al walei and now, ready for production.
The goals of the project are:
1- Providing training and capacity building for women to ensure making high quality soap
2- Ensure technical and fincial support to enable women to earn steady income
3- Produce hygiene items for reasonal price
4- Build strong fundation for societal peaceful living
5- Secure training, fund, and job opportunties
6- Reduce numbers of child laburers and dropped outs.
7- Building informational systems to enable organizaitons to meet the needs
Our expected impact of this project:
1- Capacity building for women
2- Earning steady inocme
3- Imporving economic, social, and livelihood
4- Raising awareness of the improtant of educaiton and support the children to achieve their academic goals
5- Collborate, partern, or build coalition with different organizaitons to provide more service
6-Self-sufficency and resiliency
