The Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development Center has successfully implemented the KAagapay sa Yug-yugto at Abot-kayang Negosyo (KAYA) Project and Angat Buhay Young Social Entrepreneurs Program (ABY SEP). These efforts have involved and developed 37 social enterprises nationwide or around 175 social entrepreneurs.
For its curricular courses, it has successfully implemented 20 projects through NSTP-LSEED, 9 projects under service learning, and has recently expanded its engagement with students through 23 more sections of NSTP and 3 groups for SAS 2000.
LSEED Center also recently launched the first batch of its Basic Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship in partnership with DLSU School of Lifelong Learning. This certificate course offers an in-depth discussion and learning of the key concept and application of social entrepreneurship. It is a combination of theoretical learning and community of practice as key strategies in balancing the learning process. Students will learn about localizing the Sustainable Development Goals through social entrepreneurship, design thinking, circular economy, community development, theory of change, and basics of SE operations. Specifically, below are the specific expected learning outcomes.
LSEED Center has also secured an institutional membership with the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (C.E.O) which is the premier entrepreneurship network with over 250 university chapters globally. Its student organizations namely, Hult Prize @ DLSU and DLSU SCALE have both passed the accreditation of the university for student organizations under Lasallian Mission. Several students and groups have been recognized and successfully competed in various competitions local and international.
Finally, the Center celebrated its 6th year anniversary last March 26, 2022 with an online advocacy campaign promoting social entrepreneurship nationwide. It is worth noting that De La Salle University has been included in the 401-600 bracket for SDG 1: No Poverty under the THE Impact Rankings 2022. LSEED is the leading unit promoting and localizing the said SDG in the university.
