HIV/AIDS continues to claim lives in Nigeria, with over 1.8 million people infected. Some stop taking their medicine, while others openly state they will infect others because they lack help. Thousands engage in unprotected sex with sex workers daily, fueling spread. This project will produce three video skits showing real situations, share them on social media, and promote them widely to challenge harmful behaviors and encourage safer health choices.
Nigeria still records high HIV infections due to stigma, misinformation, and unsafe practices. Some people stop taking their medicine, risking their health and increasing spread. A few, out of frustration, admit they will infect others. Daily, thousands have unprotected sex with sex workers. Many lack correct prevention details and rely on unverified sources, leaving communities vulnerable to infection.
We will produce three short skits based on real-life situations, including people refusing medication, deliberate infection, and unsafe sexual practices. These videos will be shared and promoted on popular social media platforms to reach large audiences. Each skit will give clear prevention messages, encourage treatment, and challenge dangerous myths in a relatable and memorable way.
Regular social media exposure to realistic HIV/AIDS messages can shift attitudes, reduce stigma, and encourage consistent treatment. As more people understand prevention and the importance of medication, fewer will engage in high-risk behavior. This growing awareness can slow infection rates and create communities more willing to discuss HIV openly and support safer choices.
