Social Media Skits on HIV/AIDS Awareness

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear donors,
Thank you for your kind support to this project and to everyone interested in its goal. Your attention shows that HIV/AIDS awareness is a priority. At this time, the donations received are not enough to start producing the videos, but the need is urgent and cannot wait.

HIV/AIDS remains a serious health challenge in Nigeria, with over 1.8 million people living with the virus. Many stop taking their medication, risking their own health and spreading the virus. Daily, thousands engage in unprotected sex with sex workers, and misinformation makes communities more vulnerable. Stigma prevents people from seeking help or speaking openly about prevention and treatment.

This project will create three short video skits based on real-life situations. The skits will show the dangers of stopping medication, unsafe sexual practices, and deliberate infection, while providing clear, practical prevention messages. By sharing these videos widely on social media, we aim to reach large audiences, challenge harmful behaviors, and encourage safer choices in an engaging and memorable way.

The long-term impact of this project is significant. Consistent exposure to realistic, relatable content can reduce stigma, increase adherence to medication, and promote safer sexual behavior. Communities can become more informed, supportive, and proactive about HIV/AIDS prevention.

With timely support, these videos can reach thousands and help slow infection rates while giving people the knowledge and confidence to make healthier decisions.

With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
