Medical services continue to expand from the clinic in Maphiveni. Recently a dentist and a dental therapist couple began providing services from the dental clinic every other Saturday. The number of people coming foe help and care increases each time the dental clinic is open. This clinic was seriously damaged during rain and flooding earlier in the year. With renovations and repairs complete, the dental clinic has opened to serve the surrounding community.
We are working with the Ministry of Health under a grant from the World Diabetes Foundation to expand services to identify diabetes and complications to eyes and feet. Being able to provide early detection of diabetes and then to provide care and treatment is essential to the communities we serve.
Being able to provide and expanding array of health care services requires us to conserve and save where we can so funds are available for staffing, medicines, and supplies. The installed solar system helps towards this end but needs to be expanded to provide even more ongoing savings. This GlobalGiving project will help us to get there!
