The original focus on health services for Kudvumisa was focused entirely on HIV. Now the population in this rural, impoverished and isolated area of Swaziland has access to consistent and compassionate HIV care. HIV has become a manageable disease for those who want treatment. Now with HIV as a manageable disease, all other illnesses are coming to the fore.
Has poverty or isolation changed? No, unfortunately.
So now, this population is living longer, with HIV no longer a threat, but are getting sick from other illnesses which they still cannot afford to seek treatment for. Several medical outreaches were performed over the past few months focusing on delivering general medical care and treatment. Several thousands came to the outreaches.
The Kudvumisa Clinic will begin construction in the next few months. Providing compassionate and quality care to the families in this area will ensure they can remain strong and work the small fields that have been allotted to them. Integrating solar power into the clinic ensures money is spent for drugs and treatments that would not be available otherwise.
Your contributions make this a reality!
