Summary

Building on our past renewable energy projects, we aim to continue our work for marginalised communities. This project ensures sustainable and environmentally friendly solar power for the most vulnerable, those that do not have access to the main power grid. Many people rely on expensive kerosene lamps and candles, which pose fire risks to their thatched homes, increase health problems and prevent students from studying after dusk. Help us today by bringing light to those who need it most!

Challenge

There are still many marginalised communities in Southeast Asia who do not have access to the main electrical grid. Villagers use kerosene lamps and candles - an inefficient, expensive, and dangerous form of lighting that cause constant fire and health hazards. The cost of candles also proves expensive in communities with limited income and the poor level of light provided restricts people's ability to work and study after dark thus affecting local education standards and income opportunities.

Solution

Together, we will provide reliable and eco-friendly lighting to as many villages as possible. We hope to decrease risks posed by fires and enable children to study after dark. This project aims to help residents to save money and to increase overall health within the community. TBF has implemented solar projects throughout the region for the past 5 years and is known for its tailored renewable energy projects. Long-Term Impact

Solar electricity is the most effective renewable energy source in Southeast Asia due to the plentiful annual sunshine. The use of solar energy builds sustainable eco-friendly awareness in local communities and empowers residents by combating reliance on aid handouts. Providing solar energy to families increases the educational standards for the children and income opportunities for adults, which in turn ensures a brighter future for generations to come.
