Summary

Before the Ukraine crisis, Katalyst Kitchens was an organic farm and food business incubator, however, on February 24th, they pivoted to start feeding thousands of families every week, delivering over HALF A MILLION POUNDS of healthy, local food so far. Due to the war, the price of heating gas and electricity are expected to jump 400-500% this winter. Help Katalyst provide uninterrupted refugee support by installing solar panels and backup batteries, achieving energy independence.

Challenge

For those who aren't familiar, Katalyst Kitchens was built out of an abandoned soviet-era farm.

Solution

Consequently, there was always a plan to transition to renewables one day, so the south-facing roof angle was calculated to provide maximal solar exposure.

Long-Term Impact

Also, all the kitchen equipment, the heating system, as well as two of the five vehicles used for serving refugees are electric.
