By Gracie Strobel | Assistant Executive Director
Hello friends,
I hope this letter finds you well. We’re excited to share the accomplishments we’ve made in the last three months, making significant strides in preparing for our upcoming trip this February. Here’s a snapshot of our accomplishments:
1 - Team Expansion: We welcomed three new volunteers, eager to learn about renewable energy and contribute to projects.
2 - Educational Outreach: Successfully conducted the first introductory solar and water course to a group of 55 traditional Mayan midwives.
3 - Field Training: We are beginning hands-on training sessions for midwives to practice installing solar systems.
4 - Community Engagement: Began solar education programs in regional schools, raising awareness of sustainable alternatives to traditional lighting methods.
What’s next?
We’re preparing for our next trip to Guatemala to further develop this project in its early stages, continuing training and outreach. Departing next week, we hope to make bulk purchases of solar hardware soon.
Your continued support is instrumental in driving our mission forward. Your support for Solar Midwives is actively contributing to families financial stability, less CO2 emissions, greater education, and improved infant and maternal health.
With Gratitude,
Gracie Strobel
