Following unprecedented years of drought, communities in East Africa have been left reeling by flash floods which have destroyed homes, damaged key infrastructure, spread waterborne diseases like cholera and already caused many deaths.
As flooding continues to affect over a million people, displacing several thousand families from their homes with little access to essential supplies and healthcare, we are reaching out to you with an urgent message from our team in Ethiopia.
The survival of the most vulnerable groups - children, pregnant women, the elderly - is threatened by these dire conditions. Health Poverty Action is supporting affected communities with immediate relief and long-term work to strengthen health systems, manage disease outbreaks, ensure food security, restore livelihoods, and improve access to water and sanitation.
Please give whatever you can to our emergency appeal and help communities keep people safe and healthy: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/emergency-response-to-floods-in-ethiopia-and-kenya/
