It’s been three months since we launched the Southeast Asia Flood Relief Fund, and during that time, nonprofits across the region jumped into action to deliver clean water, food, medical care, and safe shelter to flood-affected communities. Today, nonprofit partners continue to forge a path to recovery - and your support is helping them get there.

Damaged homes, infrastructure, and thousands of acres of cropland have upended daily lives and livelihoods. Nonprofits are meeting these urgent needs while working toward longer-term recovery—and your support has already funded six grants to trusted organizations in Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

Here are a few examples of this work in action:

  • Bali Life Foundationis providing monthly food supplies, clean water, school items, and healthcare to more than 1,000 people impacted by the floods in Sumatra. They are also expanding access to clean water by distributing water filters and installing water tanks for flood-affected communities. Looking ahead, their focus will shift to helping children get back to school and supporting families as they rebuild their homes and routines.
  • Family Wellbeing Centrehas been delivering food, clean water, medical aid, and temporary shelter to displaced families since the immediate aftermath of the floods in Sri Lanka. Alongside this ongoing relief, the organization is working to strengthen community resilience to future flood and climate events—building local response systems, promoting better hygiene practices, and restoring access to safe water. More information can be found through their project on GlobalGiving here.
  • Child Rehabilitation Centre  is disbursing food, clean water, medical supplies, and temporary shelter to 1000 families in impacted communities in Sri Lanka. More information can be found in their GlobalGiving project here.
  • Sathkara Social Service Foundation is delivering relief kits including dry rations, clean drinking water, hygiene items, clothing, and basic medical supplies to flood-affected families in rural communities in Sri Lanka. More information is available on their GlobalGiving project here.

Your support of the GlobalGiving Southeast Asia Flood Relief Fundis strengthening community-led responses like these—which remains critical as recovery needs remain urgent.

As Family Wellbeing Centre shared:

“This support will greatly assist our ongoing relief efforts and enable us to continue serving affected families and communities with much-needed care. We truly appreciate the compassion, partnership, and encouragement shown by GlobalGiving and its donors. Please extend our thanks for standing with us.”

Thank you again for your continued support. Your solidarity means the world.

With  gratitude,

Alli + The GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
