Greetings Everyone!
It is with great pleasure that we announce the Center of Hope near Bucharest is now open for spays and neuters! Just in time for Spay Day which is February 28. Romania Animal Rescue also did our first mobile campaign for the year, returning to Campineancu, to spay and neuter 95 animals. Now that the weather is more favorable for travel and Spring approaches, we are able to reach mobile destinations.
Speaking of Spring, with the coming of this season come the puppies. We have made so much difference in the numerous areas that we serve by curbing the abandonment of unwanted puppies, in places like Craiova, where we spay and neuter every month over 100 animals, and have had numerous massive campaigns. Only with our donors help can we continue to work in our established communities as well as move onto new ones. The cost per spay is $25, and prevents the birth of hundreds in the short term and potentially thousands in the long term. With the new Center of Hope up and running, the demand on our work increases, and our plea for donations must as well. Thank you donors for helping us to help the animals and find a humane solution to the needless suffering of the unwanted.
Please enjoy the photos from our Center campaign and from the Campineancu campaign. In 2016, RAR spayed and neutered 9888 animals. Our total now is approaching 55,000 spays and neuters.
We are also thrilled to announce that in March we are expecting a visit from Global Giving representatives to the Center of Hope in Romania. And in May, Dr. Jennifer Scarlett, President of the San Francisco SPCA, will be coming to volunteer on spay campaigns with our team. Big exciting year for the Romanian animals! We hope to accomplish at least 10,000 spays and neuters in 2017. We hope your support will enable us to reach this goal.
Thank you for caring about the dogs in Romania!
