By Laura Kimble | Baark! Chairman
Thank you so much! We are accomplishing so much that we would not be able to do without your continuous support.
The summer has been exceptionally busy in Nassau. The Mobile Team has been working very hard in the summer heat. We spent all of August and September at Lowes Wholesale on Soldier Road targeting the community of Nassau Village. There are so many dogs and cats that need to be spayed or neutered! Some of our volunteers worked hard in Treasure Cove trapping 27 cats, which were 'fixed' and then returned.
In addition to the mobile clinic work, we are continuing to work with the local vets in Nassau, and our efforts on the out islands of The Bahamas continue.
On September 23 and 24 Baark! partnered with Friends of Abaco Animals. A few Baark! volunteers traveled to Hope Town and teamed up with local volunteers and Dr. Bailey who is based in Marsh Harbour. The team spayed and neutered 22 cats (28 cats trapped - 6 were recaptures who had been done), 1 male dog & 3 wellness visits. That’s a lot of litters prevented! Many thanks to everyone who stepped up to make it all happen by bringing food for volunteers, lending a house to host the clinic, the vet team of Dr. Bailey and Chamara, Firefly Resort for donating carts, and the Abaco Shelter and Treasure Cay for loaning traps and crates.
In Eleuthera, another team will travel to Eleuthera to continue the efforts which started in 2021.
Stay tuned for more updates. We appreciate YOU!
