January 2026 – Quarterly Report From Baark !

Spay/Neuter Update

Over the final months of 2025, Baark ! continued to expand lifesaving spay and neuter services across The Bahamas. Thanks to donor support, we completed more than 4,300 spay and neuter surgeries in 2025, helping to prevent thousands of unwanted litters and reduce long-term suffering for dogs and cats.

Our mobile clinic work remains the backbone of this effort. Every animal that comes through our clinics receives spay or neuter surgery, microchipping, vaccinations, and parasite prevention—essential care that improves animal welfare while strengthening community health.

In addition to routine clinics, Baark ! supported high-volume MASH clinics and ongoing mobile outreach to ensure animals in greatest need receive timely care.

Family Island MASH Clinic Update

During October and November, the Baark ! team returned to Eleuthera for two successful spay and neuter clinics following our visit to San Salvador. These Family Island clinics are critical for reaching communities with limited or no access to veterinary services.

Over two weeks on Eleuthera, our team completed 356 spay and neuter surgeries, bringing the total number of animals sterilized on the island to more than 2,300 over the past four years. These clinics require significant coordination, long days, and strong partnerships, but the impact is profound—stopping suffering at its source and supporting both animals and the people who care for them.

Beyond the numbers, we continue to see a meaningful shift in community engagement. More residents are bringing their pets, spreading awareness, and actively participating in humane solutions. This growing trust and collaboration are helping reshape island-wide attitudes toward animal care.

Education Update

Baark !’s humane education program reached approximately 1,000 schoolchildren in 2025. In October, our education team visited Albury Sayle School, delivering lessons to 12 grade-level classrooms in just two days.

Students learned about compassion, safe interactions with animals, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of spay and neuter. These early lessons play a vital role in creating long-term change by empowering the next generation to care for animals with empathy and responsibility.

Partnerships & Rescue Impact

Strong partnerships remain central to Baark !’s mission. Throughout the quarter, we worked closely with the Bahamas Humane Society and other local and international partners to support rescue, sheltering, and follow-up care.

One example is the story of Churro, a senior dog first treated through our mobile clinic in early 2024. Because he had been microchipped through Baark !, his history was recovered when he was found again in December 2025. With support from partner organizations, Churro is now safe in foster care and preparing for a permanent home in the United States. Stories like this highlight how preventive care, identification, and collaboration create lasting outcomes.

Note to Donors

Thank you for your generosity and continued support. Every surgery, clinic, education visit, and rescue effort is made possible by donors who believe in humane, sustainable solutions.

As we begin 2026, the demand for our services continues to grow across The Bahamas. With your partnership, Baark ! will continue working toward a future where fewer animals suffer, communities are supported, and every dog and cat has the chance at a healthier, happier life.
