Help 15 Girls Achieve Their Nursing Dreams

Dear donors,

We appeal to your generosity to support the “Sponsor 15 Girls in Slums with Nursing Dreams” project. No donations have been received yet, and your support is vital to help us launch this life-saving initiative and give these girls the chance to pursue their dreams.

Fifteen girls from slums and rural communities in Nigeria aspire to become nurses. Many have witnessed preventable deaths, including mothers during childbirth, because of a lack of trained healthcare workers in their areas. These girls have the dedication and passion, but the cost of entrance exams, school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation puts their dreams out of reach.

This project will cover all necessary expenses for these 15 aspiring nurses. It will pay for entrance examination fees, admission processing, tuition, textbooks, uniforms, and transport. By removing financial barriers, these girls can begin their training and gain the skills needed to return to their communities as qualified nurses. Their work will directly save lives and strengthen healthcare where it is most needed.

Supporting this initiative can have a lasting effect. Each girl who completes her training will improve maternal and child health, reduce preventable deaths, and serve as a role model for others in her community. Over time, this project will help fill the gap left by the shortage of nurses in underserved areas and ensure that more people have access to essential healthcare.

Nursing Dreams Await 15 Slum Girls

Dear respected Donors,

We are preparing to sponsor 15 adolescent girls from urban slums into nursing schools. No donations have been received so far, but we thank prospective donors for considering this project. Your interest already gives weight to the work ahead and to the girls’ hopes of becoming trained nurses.

Nigeria continues to face challenges that make this project urgent. More than 38% of Nigerians live under the poverty line, and many households cannot afford school fees. Around 20 million children are out of school, most of them girls, while health indicators remain troubling. The country records some of the world’s highest maternal and child mortality rates, and there are not enough nurses and midwives to meet community needs. Urban slums grow rapidly with little planning, leaving residents without steady access to education, water, or health services. At the same time, skilled health workers often leave for opportunities abroad, creating gaps that worsen neglect at home.

Our plan is ready. Each girl will be enrolled in nursing school with her tuition, uniforms, and exam fees covered. They will also receive study materials, stipends for transport, and guided practical training at local clinics. Monitoring will be carried out through regular visits and progress reports, and each girl will have a mentor to guide her through both academic and personal challenges. This project will give them a path into stable careers while also strengthening the long-term pool of nurses available to Nigeria’s overstretched health system.

We thank prospective donors once again. Though no contributions have come in yet, every interest in this project represents hope. With your help, these 15 girls can take their seats in nursing school and begin a journey that will benefit not only their families but also the wider communities they will serve.
