Sponsor a Child in Sri Lanka

Dear friends,

Thank you for sponsoring children through Save a Life. Your support helps us give children in northern Sri Lanka the chance to learn, play and grow with confidence. Here is what our child-focused work looked like this quarter.

Learning through play. Under our CARE Programme, and together with Kuddy Baba Kids Play Zone, we organised an indoor games day for the children of Sri Ganesha Preschool. Through team games and activities, the children practised teamwork, communication, coordination and confidence in a safe and joyful setting.

Mental health support in schools. Through our MindLink project, we helped set up a counselling unit at J/Katheeja Muslim Maha Vidyalayam, giving students a safe space to seek guidance and emotional support. We also ran a two-day training for teachers on spotting signs of distress, giving basic psychosocial support and referring students to professional help.

Children caring for nature. In Araly, children have been planting mangrove seedlings as Mangrove Guardians, with ChildFund Sri Lanka, learning how mangroves protect their coast and their families' fishing livelihoods.

Children's Day, Oct 1. We marked Children's Day with a simple message: every child deserves love, safety, education and the freedom to dream.

What's next. We will continue our CARE Programme activities with preschools and schools in the coming months. Your sponsorship helps us keep giving children safe spaces to learn, play and be heard.
