Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, the CARE (Children's Advancement & Resilience Empowerment) Programme continues to bring nutrition, education, and protection to children across Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
Over the past few months, our team visited schools and spoke with teachers and parents to better understand the challenges facing local children. We learned that many children from vulnerable families were frequently missing school - often because of financial hardship, a lack of learning materials, or limited awareness of how much regular attendance matters for a child's future.
In response, we organized meetings with parents, teachers, and community representatives, provided school supplies and educational support to affected children, and ran awareness sessions with parents on the importance of consistent attendance. Our team also followed up individually with families to check in and identify what additional support they needed.
We learned that school supplies alone weren't enough - ongoing communication with parents and close collaboration with teachers made the real difference. Going forward, we're building more individualized family follow-up into the CARE Programme so every child gets support tailored to their situation.
None of this would be possible without your generosity. Thank you for standing with the children of Jaffna as they grow, learn, and thrive.
