Our children have returned to school! It was a joy to have them back with their parents and guardians for the past four weeks. This break provided them with the chance to reconnect with their community and adjust to life at home. During this time, many of the children learned valuable skills like working on the farm, gathering firewood, and fetching water.
For us, this is also a time to reflect on the work we do while the children are at school. The good news is that, thanks to your generosity, these children are never sent home due to lack of fees, books, school uniforms, or any other necessities. It's because of your support that they are able to continue their education. Without you, many of these children would not be in school at all – some might be on the streets or working on farms. You are breaking this cycle of poverty, providing them with opportunities for a better future. Through your kindness, you are giving them the gift of education, which will empower them to transform their families’ lives.
I can speak from experience when I say that education is a powerful tool. Our first group of children, whom we supported, have now completed university and are employed. The difference in their families is remarkable: they are now able to support their siblings, pay for their education, and help their mothers. These mothers no longer need to work on farms. As more siblings graduate and find success, we won’t be talking about vulnerable families anymore – they will be able to support one another, and the cycle of poverty will be broken. This is the change you're creating. By supporting these children, you're not just changing one life, but an entire family’s future.
Recently, we hosted a one-week mentorship program for the children, which was a wonderful experience. The children participated in painting and bead-making activities, and we had a chance to review their performance. I'm happy to report that all of them are meeting expectations. They have now returned to their respective schools, and we are incredibly proud of the progress they’re making, thanks to your support.
Currently, we are receiving about $500 from the wall, a significant decrease from the $1,800 we used to receive each month. Many of the children have no other support, and we humbly ask that you consider sharing our mission with your friends and family. Your help is crucial in ensuring that these children, who have lost their primary sources of support, can continue their education and thrive. We are deeply grateful for your prayers and ongoing support.
There are no words that can fully express the gratitude of the Tumaini family, but we pray that you will be abundantly blessed for your kindness. Thank you again for making a lasting difference in the lives of these orphans and needy children.
