Educate an Orphan in Rural Western Kenya

I take this opportunity to thank you all for working with us throughout the year 2013. We are grateful as you have walked with us on this hourney and we are seeing the fruits of your commitment to the lives that are in our care. Our children are very happy to be in school and their performances are an indication. All our children who did their national exams in November last year passed their exams. We are position one out of 27 schools in the Division and position seven out of 123 schools in the District. We have already received letters of admission in high school for our children,  some have joined and we are preparing others to join by the end of this month. We are very happy and encouraged as our children have received letters from very good high schools and this gives us hope for better results after four years of high school.

We now have 68 children in the children home, 3 babies, 50 are in primary school and 15 have joined high schol. We are also grateful as these children are happy and they have turned out as best in school. You have helped us come up with a beautiful and conducive environment for them and they feel they have a wonderful home.

We could not have achieved this if it were not for your support that has enabled us to make these children stay in school and be like other children. Our children are fed at school, they have books, they have a good learning environment and we have committed teachers to teach them. All has been implemented by you, your support, commitment and sacrifice has made these children come this far. We are only doing the work on the ground but you are  doing everything to make a difference in these children's lives and in the entire community.

 High school is a determining factor for a better future for these children. This will open the other doors for university or other colleges and we find it to be the most improtant task to be accomplished. As we are striving to make a difference in these lives, without high school education then we will be striving for nothing. It is only the high school that will give these children a step forward to their brighter future and we will be proud of our striving. It is in this regard that we are kindly requesting you to continue spreading the word about Tumaini to expand our support family.  This will enable us pay the high school fees for our children and make them remain in school as they have been during their primary education at Tumaini school. Encourage friends to spread the work of Tumaini to their friends and families, churches and groups so that we can make this happen. Our High school fund has to grow so that our children can remain in school. This year has been a challenge because we didnt fundraise for the high school fund. High school fees is very high and that is why we have the high school fund to help us pay all the fees required.

We are very grateful and we have no words to express our joy when we see how far we have come with the lives in our hands. We really appreciate and it is our prayer that you will be blessed abundantly. We are proud of you!
