To our donors,

The “Mision Huascaran” team wishes you and your loved ones find themselves in good health. These times are still challenging in Peru, but we face them with optimism and a lot of positive energy. We continue to advance with our educational project “Sponsor a child's education for USD 10 per month”. We would like to share our progress and say thank you for all the support.

Actions accomplished

  1. We continue with our complementary educational program in reading comprehension, literacy, and critical thinking at 6 rural schools in Ancash Peru.
  2. Due to freak weather conditions the school year started late, in April we handed out over 200 school utilities to all the Andean youngsters in our program.
  3. Up until June 2023, over 500 hours of comprehensive reading classes were given by the Mision Huascaran team.
  4. With the Raz Plus, an interactive reading platform, our children read almost 7000 digital books, This platform offers up to 400 level books to the kids and allows us to evaluate the reading progress of each one of the end-users.
  5. The average reading program attendance rate of our students was 97% in the first half year of 2023.
  6. In June, just before the winter holiday break, all the alumnus of the Education Program we tested, to measure their half time advances in comprehensive reading and critical thinking.
  7. All students currently enrolled have access to their personal tablet, giving them access to vanguard learning applications, otherwise not available in the remote rural areas of Peru.

We hope to continue counting on your support so that the children of Mancos and Carhuaz continue to receive complementary quality education. We would like to thank you beforehand for all the support we received from you through GlobalGiving platform.

Wishing you all the best.
