In Uganda 70% of the girls drop out of school due to poverty, gender based violence, Early pregnancy & forced Marriages by their relatives who are intrested much in receiving dowry. This project aims at giving a chance to girls and young women who never completed their education to acquire some technical knowledge and skills in Tailoring, which will bring hope and brighten their future.
In Uganda 70% of the girls drop out of school, due to poverty, gender based violence, Early pregnancies & forced marriages by the relatives who are so much interested in dowry. This has promoted prostitution, since most girls view prostitution as the only solution for joblessness and poverty, so they have no choice but to join this risky job in order to make their ends meet. The high levels of illiteracy among women has been a hindrance to Global Development thus leading to high crime rates.
The project is aimed at sponsoring at least 50 girls for a complete 2 years course in Tailoring, computer and Music at WATO vocational training School- Uganda.
Illiteracy among the female shall reduce by 1% within the central region of Uganda. Prostitution shall reduce by 30% in this central region of Uganda. Girls will acquire their lifetime skills, thus improve on their standards of living. Poverty and Joblessness among the youth shall reduce by at least 2%
