VAAFD communication officer did an interview with one of VAAFD beneficiaries’ parent, concerning the scholarship that was offered to her daughter. According to Mrs. Tonquillie; “Due to so many financial constraints my daughter Pauline had been selling on the street Redlight to support herself in school. For me it had actually being a very hard thing to see my child selling in the street.
After I received the news that my daughter was offered a scholarship at the second biggest university in the country, I was so excited. That news was the best news I have ever received in my life, it was like a beacon of light. It’s like a huge weight has been lifted. Words seem inadequate to express how thankful I am”.
She also stated that this scholarship has not only made a university education accessible but has also given her child the freedom to pursue her passion without the shadow of financial strain.
Her daughter Pauline is doing extremely well in her studies, Pauline told our team that this gift allows her to focus entirely on her studies, explore her passions, and grow into the person she is meant to be. The peace of mind it provides is invaluable, and she is eternally thankful for this opportunity.
The VAAFD family is grateful to everyone who is going beyond everything to put a smile on the faces of parents who cannot afford to continue their children's education in Liberia. We are happy to be in the heart of all our donors. Our beneficiaries had just completed another semester.
