Dear Project Supporters,
Your generous support is greatly appreciated as small businesses continue to receive microfinance loans to help start or grow their businesses. During his June 2019 visit to Sierra Leone, Sylvester had the opportunity to meet with Sahr, a talented artist in Sierra Leone. Sylvester provided Sahr with a range of art supplies as shown in the photo. Sahr is very thankful for the support he has received as he expresses in this video.
My name is Sahr. I just want to say thanks for all of these materials. I'm really, really grateful for everything. May God continue to bless you, and please don't forget to continue to support; there are so many talents out here in Sierra Leone that want to do more quality artwork that do not have the right materials so I really appreciate if you continue to help. Thank you very much. God bless!
Sylvester also had the opportunity to meet three other artists - who will also be using/sharing the art supplies. The artists asked for support to help launch an art gallery. The art market is relatively undeveloped in Sierra Leone. There is no Art school in Sierra Leone. Artists receive little to no encouragement to pursue a career in Art. Consequently, many talented artists end up abandoning their creative talent - due to a lack of support.
We encourage you to consider starting a monthly recurring donation here to provide a microfinance loan through which Sahr will be able to start a small Art gallery. The Art gallery will act as a resource and hub for other budding artists in Sierra Leone. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way to give Sahr and other small businesses a hand up. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.
