Fatmata is Thankful for Your Microfinance Support

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator

Dear Project Supporters,

The Coronavirus AKA COVID-19 continues to disrupt lives and businesses globally. The businesses in Sierra Leone are no exception, but microfinance loans are helping small businesses, like Fatmata's, during these challenging times.

Fatmata lives in the waterloo community, one of the poorer neighborhoods in Freetown. According to Fatmata before she took out the microfinance loan her family's needs were a daily struggle.  Her husband's minimum wage was not enough to meet all the needs of the home. The microfinance loan she received helped her to start a business, selling fast food (shawarma) in her community.  According to Fatmata, her children can now go to school with smiles on their faces.

Your support is helping individuals like Fatmata become self-sufficient and provide a better life for their families. We encourage you to consider starting a monthly recurring donation here. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way to give individuals a hand up in their businesses. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,

Amy &The Develop Africa Team
