Mabinty is Thankful for her Microfinance Loan

Dear Project Supporters,

Your generous support is continuing to provide microfinance loans even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your support is helping small businesses, like Mabinty's, during these challenging times.

Mabinty lives in the Lumley community in Freetown. She is the grandmother to sisters, Lucy and Elizabeth. Elizabeth and Lucy lost their mother three years ago and since then Mabinty has been the one taking care of them. Mabinty used her microfinance loan to make and sell Ogiri. Ogiri is one of the most common seasonings in Sierra Leone, used to flavor local foods. Since she received her Develop Africa Sierra Leone interest-free microfinance loan, she has been able to start and maintain her small business.

Your support is helping individuals like Mabinty become self-sufficient and provide a better life for their families. Our recurring donors truly make a lasting difference. If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we encourage you to consider starting a monthly recurring donation here. Even a few dollars a month will go a long way to give individuals a hand up in their businesses. Please also share this with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project.

Save the Date: Sept 14-18, join us for the GlobalGiving #LittleByLittle campaign. With 50% matching on all donations up to $50, BIG change can come from lots of little acts of kindness. Mark your calendars and support small businesses in Africa.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

With great appreciation,
