Your generous support is continuing to help provide microfinance loans, which helps small businesses like Mariatu's. The goal of interest-free microfinance loans is to provide parents/guardians with the ability to support their families. Joseph, from the Develop Africa Sierra Leone team, went to visit Mariatu at her business.
Hi, my name is Joseph and I work with Develop Africa. Today I am with Mariatu, she happens to be one of the beneficiaries of the interest-free microfinance program. The essence of this program is to provide interest-free loans to parents whose kids are part of the sponsorship program so that the parents can be able to start small businesses to provide lunch and other necessities for their kids.
Mariatu sells fries/snacks and candies at a primary school in her community. Through her business, she can support her kids, and two of her kids are part of the sponsorship program.
Good morning, my name is Mariatu. Thank you all for the microfinance through Develop Africa, with the microfinance support, I was able to start my own business and can now provide for my kids.
