Aminata Visits Marian at Blue Crest College

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Recently, Develop Africa Sierra Leone staff member Aminata visited Marian at Blue Crest College, where she is pursuing studies in fashion and design. During the visit, Marian was actively engaged in practical fashion work, focused on a project that reflected both her creativity and commitment to learning.

It was encouraging to see Marian confidently working within her learning environment, gaining hands-on experience and developing practical skills that will help prepare her for future employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Her dedication demonstrates the importance of equipping young women not only with education but also with workforce-ready skills that can lead to independence and self-sufficiency.

Vocational and workforce training programs like Marian’s help students move beyond theory and into real-world application. Through practical experience, students gain confidence, strengthen their talents, and prepare to contribute meaningfully to their communities and local economies.

Your support is helping make stories like Marian’s possible. Because of your generosity, students are gaining access to education, vocational training, mentorship, and opportunities that empower them to build brighter futures.

Thank you for investing in workforce empowerment and for helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

Together, we are empowering the next generation with education, opportunity, and practical skills for the future.

With gratitude,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
