Sanitation training for the caregivers

our generous sponsorship extends far beyond providing educational and social protection opportunities; it's an investment in the holistic development of these young minds. Your support has facilitated not only their academic journey and social protection upon the children1

08 (94 females and 14 males) caregivers participated in the training and equipped with knowledge on positive parenting. The Sub County Community Development Officer- Bukedea, facilitated the training. Among the topics discussed include; basic needs of a child, good parenting practices, positive parenting practices, role of parentings in upbringing of children, home as the best place in child growth not the on the streets, the daily life matrix and expenditure visa vi the cost of education, strategies on how to plan for the future of children, parental responsibility as role to play, bad influence of alcohol to families, practicing on how to save for child future education, investing for care and support of all children etc. - As a result, some of the caregivers testified that because they have been involved in during alcohol, they have not been able to save anything for the families, including the family basic needs. They however, promised to reduce on alcohol consumption for the good of their families. As a project, this will be verified during the mass home visitation in the next quarter Training of caregivers on hygiene and sanitation 138 (123 females and 15males) caregivers participated in the training and equipped with knowledge and skills on hygiene and sanitation. The Sub County Community Development Officer, Senior CDO Bukedea carried out the training. Among the topics handled included; definition of hygiene and sanitation concepts, link between hygiene and sanitation, personal hygiene, daily hygiene practices, standard model home; latrine, bathe shelter, kitchen, drying rack, rubbish pit and drying line), household hygiene, community surround hygiene, common disease caused by poor hygiene, water cycle, water borne diseases, the five Fs (food, fingers, files, faeces and flows from the run-off water) how to prevent malaria at household, animal- human transmittable disease. At the end of training, action points were developed together with caregivers, which the project will follow up with during the mass home visitation forthcoming in the next quarter Networked with the office of the DCDO, Bukedea. The Senior DCO Bukedea was also invited to train the caregivers on positive parenting and hygiene and sanitation issues and a total of females and males benefitted from GBV training while 125 females and 17 males also participated in child protection training.
