The Sponsorship Program supports orphans, vulnerable children, families, and the elderly living in poverty support through sponsorships. This program offers cash assistance to families, orphans, and children in need to support them in covering their basic expenses.
According to ESCWA, the multidimensional poverty rate in Lebanon doubled from 42 per cent in 2019 to 82 per cent of the total population in 2021, with nearly 4 million people living in multidimensional poverty. With more than half the population living below the national poverty line, unemployment rate on the rise, an increasing share of households is facing difficulty in accessing basic services.
This project aims to offer families living in poverty with monthly financial support that will support them access their basic necessities. Through the sponsorships, the families will be able to cover their basic needs, such as medical, dietary, educational, and their rent fees.
