The Philippines remains one of the world's hotspots for the commercial sexual exploitation of children, with an estimated 60,000-100,000 children involved in prostitution and up to 2 million experiencing online sexual exploitation and abuse each year. Girls Got This (GGT) helps protect vulnerable girls through safe spaces, education, sport and mentorship, empowering them to stay safe, stay in school and build brighter futures.
Eastern Visayas is one of the Philippines' poorest and most disaster-prone regions. Poverty, repeated typhoons and limited access to quality education leave many adolescent girls at greater risk of school dropout, early pregnancy, gender-based violence and exploitation. Without safe spaces, trusted mentors and opportunities to learn, many girls struggle to reach their potential, reinforcing cycles of poverty that can last for generations.
Girls Got This helps girls stay safe, stay in school and build brighter futures. We create safe spaces where girls gain confidence through sport and life skills, work with teachers to improve child protection and reduce school dropout, connect girls with trusted mentors, and provide pathways to education, digital skills and future employment. Together, we're helping girls break the cycle of poverty, violence and exploitation.
Girls Got This helps break the cycle of poverty, violence and exploitation by enabling girls to stay in school, build confidence and access opportunities for higher education and employment. Over time, the programme strengthens child protection systems, empowers girls to become leaders in their communities, and creates safer, more resilient communities where every girl has the opportunity to learn, thrive and contribute to her family's and community's future.
