Hello donors summer is here! it's time for the annual art programme "Growing Young SVG Artists" organized by Youlou Arts Foundation. It's now 24 years since Youlou Arts has been offering the programme. We are excited and happy about this fact! Donors, your generousity, helps us to continue. We sincerely thank you and hope you will continue supporting us.
This year our programme continues to focus on climate change. We are trying to stress the importance of reducing consumption. We plan to do this by teaching the children how to repair their clothes and how to retore the soil by learning how to make compost. Children will learn how to sew on a button, how to hem and how to mend their clothes using the Japanese method of boro stitching.
The creation of tiny forests will continue in two locations this year, Spring Village and Georgetown.
Art activities will include creating a personal logo and weaving a mini magic carpet on a cardboard loom. Kindness rocks will be painted by the younger children and the older children will learn how to crochet.
The Teachers Training Workshop took place from Wednesday, July 9 through Friday, July 11. The children's programme will start on Monday, July 14 and end Friday, July 25. We are happy we are able to offer the programme. All Thanks to our wonderful donors.
